Think Pink

Recently a very good friend of mine, Mariann Morgan did a 60 second breast cancer awareness radio spot for St. John's Hospital, in Joplin, MO. In that short time she told the world of her survival, she spoke of how breast cancer had not been in her familial history, nor had she noticed a lump. She always took precautions doing self-breast exams and undergoing mammograms yearly from the time she was 40.  But life got a little hectic and 3 years ago, she thought about putting off that years exam. Then she received a reminder card in the mail from St. Johns, she made the time and set up an appointment. She was very grateful for this card because it was at this exam that her cancer was discovered. Even though the cancer was at a stage zero she had to undergo a mastectomy and radiation treatment. Imagine what stage it would be at if she had put it off. She recommends all women not put off getting a mammogram. Mariann is a very private person and yet opened up to help the women in her community  be aware, I have to say I am very proud of her.

Here is my "think pink" card that was made with all the survivors and the current fighters (like my SAA pal Dana) of breast cancer in mind.
